What is the Adopt-a-Family Program?

The Adopt-a-Family Program is a process by which people can make a real difference in the lives of children affected by HIV/AIDS during the Winter Holidays (whether they celebrate these holidays as Christmas, Hanukkah or Solstice, etc.)

Most adults don't think about Christmas much. They do not fantasize about it. They don't dream about it at night. They no longer get so excited that they could scream about it.

Children do.............

And children affected by HIV/AIDS count on it to help make up for the pain which they endure on a daily basis. These children live with the effects of this devastating disease every day of their young lives.

YOU can help to make their wishes come true by adopting a family for the Winter Holidays. You can adopt a family with just two members (usually a mother and child or as
many as eight.

The minimum commitment is that you buy two gifts and one new outfit for each child in the family whom you adopt and that you buy one gift or outfit for each adult. We will provide you with a "Wish List" for each family which includes what they want and their clothing sizes. Boxed and canned food are always welcome additions to any families list.

The reason that we require all items to be brand new is that this is the only time of the year they get things which aren't already used. All items need to be delivered (unwrapped and with each gift identified by age and sex (as well as client number) to the FACE office no later than Dec. 10, 2007.
